I was raised with Golden Retrievers and always had a special relationship with our family’s dogs. In 2006 my family purchased our first Labrador, Kooper, and that was the beginning for me. Kooper quickly became my dog. Kooper introduced me to this wonderful breed and the world of dog sports through Scent Work. As Kooper aged I got my second Labrador, Kizzy. I had hoped to compete with Kizzy, but soon discovered that Kizzy had severe anxiety. Kizzy taught me so much about dog behavior and training and became my wonderful pet. I lost Kooper in 2017 and after a year I started my search for my next dog. In 2019 I brought my first show dog, Koby, home from CaerCreek Labradors. While Koby wasn’t a big fan of the show ring, he introduced me to the Pacific Northwest Labrador Breeders at local shows, which is where I met Rebecca Bloom of WestBrooke Kennels. In 2021 Rebecca entrusted me with Keeva who has become the foundation for our program. My dogs are a big part of my life; just ask my family and friends! Currently I do most of the showing of our dogs, with my mom joining me in the ring when we have two dogs in the ring at the same time. I have also trained my dogs for the Canine Good Citizen tests, Trick Dog tests, basic obedience, Rally and hunt tests. I have had some great mentors along the way, whether it be for general Labrador knowledge, medical knowledge, showing, training, etc. I am lucky to have Rebecca Bloom, Jan Cameron and Mary Swartz in my corner!
